Clarke County Jail Roster
The official current inmate channel is the Current List of Inmates for Clarke County Jail. The Sheriff's Office describes the public list as unofficial information provided without warranty for accuracy, reliability, or completeness. The list begins after a 24-hour delay from booking, then updates every 15 minutes after that delay. For official jail records, the research directs users to contact the Clarke County Sheriff's Office.
The direct listing is a current-prisoner table, not a deep profile system. It displays first charge only. It also should not be confused with the recent-arrests page, which is limited to arrests from the last seven days and uses the same delay and update timing. A current inmate entry tells a reader that a person may be in local custody. It does not prove the final charge, disposition, sentence, or release outcome. Those facts may require court records from Magistrate, Municipal, State, or Superior Court.
The Additional Jail Information page is the official source for Clarke County inmate visitation, commissary, property, and remote-communication rules.
That jail source supplies the practical rules that a Clarke County inmate search result does not show by itself.
Use Clarke County Inmate Search
The jail roster path begins with the Sheriff's disclaimer page. A user must accept the disclaimer before reaching the current prisoner listing. Since no search box was observed on the accessible listing, users should expect to browse the current table and match the person by booking number, name, sex, and first charge. When a name is common, official confirmation from the jail or Sheriff's Office is the safer next step.
- Open the official current inmate page and review the disclaimer about unofficial information, the delay, and update timing.
- Accept the disclaimer to reach the current prisoner listing.
- Browse the list for booking number, last name, first or middle name, sex, and first charge.
- Remember that the list displays first charge only and may not show bond, court date, or release details.
- Call the jail for official custody information or weekend and holiday first-appearance timing.
Recent arrests are a separate channel. The arrests from the last seven days page can help when a person was booked recently but no longer appears on the current inmate list. For court charges after arrest, use the court that received the case or the Clarke County arrest records and charges pathway.
Clarke County Roster Fields
The public roster is more of a browsable custody list than a traditional name-search portal. Its fields are still important because they define what can be confirmed from the public screen and what must be obtained from the jail, Sheriff's Office, or court records.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Options / Format Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Accept / Decline | Checkbox or link decision | Yes to proceed | The disclaimer page requires accepting terms before the listing. |
| Current prisoner listing | Table or list | n/a | No search box was observed; users browse the list. |
| Booking number | Result field | n/a | Numeric booking or inmate identifier displayed. |
| Last name | Result field | n/a | Surname displayed. |
| First / middle name | Result field | n/a | Given and middle names displayed. |
| Sex | Result field | n/a | Example values include male and female. |

Clarke County Inmate Record Fields
The accessible current-prisoner listing confirms only a limited public field set. It does not document a mugshot, bond amount, holding unit, full charge list, court date, booking date, or projected release date from the text available in research. Those gaps are not small. They tell users when to contact the jail or court rather than assume a field is blank, withheld, or not applicable.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Booking number | Visible booking identifier for the current jail listing. |
| Name | Last name plus first and middle names when shown. |
| Sex | Sex listed in the roster table. |
| Charges | First charge only on the current prisoner listing. |
| Booking date/time | Not confirmed from accessible text listing. |
| Bond | Not confirmed from accessible text listing; check first appearance or court records. |
| Court date | Not confirmed from accessible text listing; use the court or jail for current hearing information. |
| Release status | Not on the current-prisoner list; use recent arrests or official contact for status. |

Booking and Bond Records
After arrest, a person is taken to the jail for intake, identification, booking, classification, and housing. The public roster may not show the person for 24 hours. Court review begins through first appearance, also called a bond hearing. Magistrate Court holds first appearance hearings every day, including weekends and holidays. Weekday hearings are usually held at the courthouse, while weekend and county holiday hearings are held at the jail at a time set by the judge.
First appearance is where release conditions may be set or reviewed. It can also be the first place family members learn whether a bond exists. The jail can provide hearing-time information for weekends and holidays, but the court file is still the better source for later docket entries, filed charges, disposition, and sentence. If a warrant caused the arrest, the Clarke County warrant records path can help identify which court issued the warrant.
Clarke County Inmate Visits
Public visitation is remote-first. The Sheriff's page states that remote communication is available through Pay Tel Communications for phone service and JailATM for video visitation and email. Onsite visitation is for professional visits only. JailATM scheduled video visits and unscheduled video visits have separate charges, and public email to or from an inmate also carries a charge.
| Service | Schedule / Rule | Cost / Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Scheduled video visit | 9-11 AM, 1-4 PM, and 6-9 PM | 15 minutes for $3.75 through JailATM.com. |
| Unscheduled video visit | Remote availability through JailATM | $0.25 per minute. |

| Public email to inmate | Through JailATM.com | $0.50. |
| Onsite visitation | Professional visits only | Public personal visits are remote. |
Note: Public personal visits are remote; professional visit rules should be confirmed with the jail before arrival.
Contact Clarke County Inmates
Telephone service is provided by Pay Tel Communications. Friends and family can use the automated phone system in English or Spanish to make a payment, open an account, get a rate quote, block a number, check an account balance, request a refund, or reach customer service. Pay Tel Connect can also be used after an account is set up to make payments and check balances. That vendor app is for phone-account management, not an official inmate lookup app.
Personal mail no longer goes straight to the jail. It is sent to a central processing facility, opened, scanned, and made available electronically to the inmate for 14 days. Personal mail should be addressed to JailATM.com, Clarke County Jail, inmate name and inmate number, 925B Peachtree St. NE, Box 2062, Atlanta, GA 30309. Legal mail goes directly to the jail facility and must be sent by a legally approved entity.
Commissary and Inmate Funds
Clarke County inmates are allowed individual cash accounts up to $200. The research states deposits must be made by Tuesday of that week by 7:00 PM. The jail lobby remains open for cash deposits to JailATM accounts, and online deposits can be made through JailATM.com. The commissary limit is $80, including $40 on food products and $40 on hygiene and whites. Care pack orders count against the food limit.
No inmate personal property is accepted at this time, including clothing, books, and photos. Books must come by mail order from Amazon or the publisher. Books depicting gangs, gambling, sex, pornography, or illegal drugs are rejected and donated outside the facility. Money orders and official transactional documents go directly to the jail facility with the inmate name and inmate number.
State Custody and Registry Checks
County jail records are not the same as state prison records. If a person has left local custody for a state sentence, the Georgia Department of Corrections offender search is the better statewide channel. VINELink can support custody notifications. The Georgia Sex Offender Registry is a separate GBI search for sex-offender registration status, not a current jail roster and not a substitute for a court file.
The Georgia Sex Offender Registry is one statewide public record source that may be relevant after a case, sentence, or registration duty exists.
That registry helps with a narrow statewide status question, while Clarke County inmate records remain tied to the jail, sheriff, and court case channels.
